Beginners Tactics for Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the wild west in an awesome game for new players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player against the dealer, unlike almost all other poker games that gamblers bet with other players. By competing against the dealer, beginning players do not need to fret about any other, more skillful players winning their money.

Another Pai Gow edge is the fairly leisurely game play, novices should be able to take their time and strategize while not having to make quick selections.

It is also easier to play for a long time with only a small amount of cash after all, to lose, both of your hands must be under both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is assigned 7 cards faces showing and the croupier gets 7 cards face down.

One 5 card hand and a two card hand must be made from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the casino’s.
