Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to make it to the last game in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best gamblers in the world. While playing web poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total dollar value. I think television can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players in the world could be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found wagering on web poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in big stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
