Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the last game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best players around the world. While betting on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amount. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest players anywhere in the world might be players you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be seen wagering on internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in cash rounds?
