1 Plus 2 Equals 3: A Poker Competitor’s Value is Judged by His or Her Bottom Line

[ English ]

A few poker techniques will astonish you with their simplicity. This is one of them. Write down your results, every single time you wager.

Church of holdem Psalm #3:

You must record thy wins and your loses; for it’s the grand total of all a mans accomplishments which develop his bottom line.

How detailed is up to you. I tend to believe that hourly specifics and that type of intimate detail is wasted. Basically work out how far ahead you are and how much (if anything) you’ve withdrawn. Certainly, if you do not win, note that too, regardless of how much it it might pain you.

Do not forget to note what style of poker you are betting on, if that’s important to you. (In my experience, most folks stick to what they know and do not experiment. If all you note is winnings, loses and withdrawals, you are light years ahead of almost all players around!)

Give yourself actual goals, like a ‘dream’ target (new vehicle, get-a-way or whatever). When you take out, mark the dollars withdrawn to your dream tally. The more successful you are, the nearer that goal will be!
