Hold em Poker Masters

Stu is regarded by many to the greatest No Limit Texas hold em Poker player ever.

The 3 time World Poker Champ was born in New York in ‘53 and started wagering poker prior to becomming a teenager.

The young gambler began playing gin and at the age of ten had won his 1st gin rummy tournament, while on holiday with his parents. By the time he turned fourteen the small poker genius had turned pro and dropped out of school.

In ‘54 Stu Ungar entered the record books by succeeding 10 grand in a gin tournament without losing a single hand, a record which still stands in New York these days.

The fast talking wiz kid has been likened, in poker terms, to sporting superstars such as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Stu had a genuine talent for betting poker except despite his successes in Texas hold’em poker, he favored betting gin.

Stu once said that there may several day be a far better No Limit Hold’em player than him except he couldn’t see how anyone could ever be a greater gin gambler.

In ‘80 Stu Ungar was put on the global map as one of the best Texas hold em Poker gamblers in the world when he was crowned World Poker Champion for the 1st time. Extraordinarily it was the very first time he had entered the tournament.

The right after year he dismissed any suggestions that it had been a fluke, by effectively protecting his crown. And in ‘97 Stu set the record by winning his third World poker championship.

But this poker legend also fought with drug abuse and a year right after winning his third title Stu Ungar died in his hotel room. According to doctors, he had passed away from a heart attack which was triggered by his lifestyle.

Stu had started out with practically nothing except his ability and talent for the game which made this poker wonderful a millionaire numerous times over.
