Focus on Annie Duke

Annie Duke may not have won her 1st WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but she is one of the most powerful poker players around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP win came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While competitors from the "young crowd" of poker run amok following a big success at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mommy" to her 4 children. She hails from New Hampshire and was raised into a family of card players. If you don’t accept that, check out her sibling, Howard Lederer, in action, Howard taught Annie the best method to play poker.

However, Annie Duke is not a small change girl and has captured her cut of challenging games, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.

Earning well over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Annie branched out to become a advisor to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wished to develop his skills and become a force at the poker table.

You might notice Annie at the Bellagio, you’ll see her on the tv and you may even compete against her in an online poker game, but do not count on an easy win. Unless you’re a rising star, you’ll not beat her. However, it would be fun to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
